This amazing home is an authentic colonial... recreated in California! Long story but trust me,  it's full of rustic imperfections, atmosphere and history!

I love the painted wood staircase - so classic in colonial homes. And the pièce de résistance is glowing light from a long window in the distance that pulls the viewer into the scene.

Some folks thought the title of this piece should be about the stairs leading to bedtime. Possibly,  but it strikes me more as a morning scene with the table as a gathering point to start the day.
