Having recently moved to the northeast with more beach access, and with the opportunity to have a beach vacation, it seemed like the right time to do a series of shell paintings. This is the fourth in the series. It was challenging with all the texture and veining but I so enjoyed it! The colorful shell is actually a Chima, a type of abalone from Mexico. The next painting may include the inside and outside. Quite an unusual shell.
