Dorothy Lorenze

original oil paintings

I was still working on a large painting of gourds when I saw Mandarin oranges with glossy leaves at Whole Foods. They are usually available only in January so I picked out a few with lovely leaves and temporarily abandoned the gourds. These outstretched leaves made me think of angels wings and Iso the title Mandarin Seraphim. I suppose it takes a bit of explaining but why not. The more time spent enjoying the energy of these elegant leaves which exist in service to a golden globe of juicy fruit, the better!
