Blue cheese on flow blue china: Blue on Blue! Fortunately it was not also "heartache on heartache" as  this one was a joy to paint.


Painting blue cheese with it's craggy surface felt like painting the moon! But I loved seeing the difference inn the way the moldy blue presents on the top of the wheel compared with how it is exposed on the cut side.


​For this china pattern I think I managed to indicate the essence of the pattern without literally rendering it. That's a big leap for me! 


And finally, the drapery was a nice simple smooth contrast, setting the stage for all the textures above,
