What can I say about these sweet Santa's?! I'm a big fan of vintage Christmas décor, which brings back many wonderful memories as Christmas was always the happiest time in my childhood. So vintage holiday trinkets always make me smile.
But this painting came about sort of suddenly as I happened to be ready to start a new still life while painting with friends after getting ready to decorate for the holiday. These guys presented an interesting challenge in painting the contrast between the muted colored Santa and the monochrome "chocolate" Santa as well as the shiny vintage ornament with it's reflective indent. Such fun!
