2020 to 2022 was a tough time with all of us laying low to avoid our personal pandemic. It certainly was a bleaker winter than we would have liked - no where to go, no one to see, a boring stay-at-home time. 


And so... we cooked and baked and ate (and drank!). This particular hubbard squash was not sewed or eaten, because, typically my "fresh" still life subjects suffer decline as I paint. But the darkness of this set up seemed to echo the dark feelings that we worked to keep at bay with warming soups and stews.​


I invite you to celebrate resilience and warmth as you experience this painting. And let's work to not experience that isolating time again!
