This little one was standing in the light in a church in France. She appeared to be alone and was perfectly at ease taking it all in.
Of course her parents were in a side chapel and keeping an eye on her, but seeing her in the light with such a look of awareness and grace was mesmerizing,
Her face and figure were a bit fuzzy in the photo so I feel like this could be anyone and I like it all the better for that reason.
This was painted during the coronavirus isolation and the title also references the difficulty or ease some have had in finding grace in a time of isolation. It's certainly been a time for reflection on what we value in our own lives and an appreciation for the suffering of so many at this difficult time.
