This crockery is actually an antique, early American beer bottle (maybe "mead", maybe not, I don't pretend to know the difference) along with an old salt glazed stein from Bavaria. And the book in the background is from Denmark. It seems all my books with marbleized covers are from northern Europe, alto paper marbling originated in the middle east...
Anyway... while working on this one I happened to be looking for some different classical, meditative music and came upon Gregorian chant music on Pandora which seemed to fit the mood - hence Monk's Mead!
