Dutch Apple

Haven't you always wanted to paint like Rembrandt? So, we went to Amsterdam, walking in Rembrandts footsteps, drank Dutch beer and ate Dutch chocolate and toured Rembrandt's home and studio soaking in the sights and atmosphere.

As we wandered the narrow streets and alleys my eyes were peeled for a Rembrandtesque piece of crockery to add to my still life prop collection.

But there was no crockery to be had so we looked for pewter and found this lovely pot with an old world Dutch master feel.

I put it together with a dark background as Rembrandt might have done and the apples from our neighbor's orchard brightened it up and suggested the title.

I love this little painting!
